It is typical to get a song or tune stuck in your head. Lately I have a phrase stuck in my head, c'est la vie. Such is life. I have thrown my hands up in the air accepting that I have control over nothing. I find myself in a never ending storm of wind and hail and I have the reigns over nothing other than a smile. I cannot control those around me and the way their actions affect me. I cannot control the economy or the challenges I face. But I can choose to smile. And I do!

I have been feeling the exact same way lately. I'm grateful that the church teaches us a lot about attitude and how we can affect how the world effects us. I don't know if you had this lesson in R.S. a few weeks ago, but it was about perspective and being "grateful" vs. "hateful". It really helped me understand. The hymn is profound: "count your blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done". So so true. When faced with a barrage of negative things outside my control, I choose to count my blessings. There are many. And it's a great reason to smile! Heart you!
