8/2/10

Tonight I attended the Rosi Golan and William Fitzsimmons show. Aubrey Hunt introduced me to William this winter when we were up in the snowy mountians at a cabin. His music instantly peirced me like nothing ever has. I listened him non-stop through the weeks that followed. It soothed me in some ways and in other ways just leeched out the painful dark parts of this winter. Now, 8 months later, his music is already nostalgic to me. I am content that I can listen to his music and smile, that chapter of my life is gone. Anyways. I learned on Friday that he was going to be playing a show in town and I knew that even if I had to go alone I would attend this show. But Spencer was a great sport and even though he hadn't listened to his music much he accompanied me. He really enjoyed it. William played a lot of songs from the most recent album the Sparrow and the Crow. A woman named Rosi Golan opened for him. Her voice is so smooth and charming. I think she has the potential to be the next Priscilla Ahn or Leslie Feist. To my delight, she sang harmony with William throughout the rest of a show. On the last song they came down into the crowd and turned the microphones off so you had to hush to hear them. It was surreal. Two feet from me was William and Rosi creating these heavenly harmonies. I felt so blessed to be there and to be a part of it.
